Staff members from Woolworths Brooklyn were in Itireleng this morning celebrating Mandela Day with kids from Thuto Ke Lesedi Daycare.

The daycare centre was in need of a revamp and Woolworths Brooklyn did just that.

Local resident and employee at Woolworths Brooklyn, Diksha Bhura said, “Three classrooms and the jungle gyms were painted, sanitation was upgraded to ensure the kids and staff have running water and educational toys were given to the daycare for the kids.”

“We’re passionate about our country and believe that by helping previously disadvantaged communities build economically sustainable livelihoods for themselves, we will empower future generations. Communities are at the heart of our corporate social investment strategy and core to this is to support programmes that address food security, reduce child vulnerability and contribute towards education.” Woolworths Social Development
