4 of Laudium’s under 13 players, Rehaan Patel, Saad Amir, Ahmed Ebrahim and Sahl Mohamed, were selected to represent a combined Northerns hub team in a day night game on Friday 22 October against Laerskool Voorpos. The team consisted of boys from Laudium, Mamelodi and Soshanguve and was captained by Sahl.
Rehaan was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 6 overs 2 for 25. Set a big target of 192 off 30 overs, Sahl led from the front and anchored the innings, top scoring with 37. With 8 runs required off 3 balls, Rehaan hit a four and a 6 to take his team to victory with a ball to spare.
Unfortunately none of Laudium’s junior teams won their games this weekend despite some excellent performances from a few of our boys.
Under 9 player Amaar Qasim scored 26 against Brits.
In the Under 11 game Shalok Joshi was the pick of the bowlers picking up 3 wickets while Ammaar Kavadia top scored with 41 not out off 32 balls.
The under 13 bowling attack was led my Hamzah Mindiwala with figures of 6 overs 3-30. Aqil Patel who’s bowling figures were 4 overs 1 for 13 was the pick of the batsman scoring 46 not out
In Sunday’s under 15 game, player of the week Aboobaker Rassool first starred with the ball with figures of 8 overs 2 for 44 before scoring 106 off 96 balls.
