The South African Police Service (SAPS) has confirmed that it's Criminal Record Centre (CRC) Headquarters which is situated in Pretoria, has reopened and is fully functional and operational.
In a statement issued on Friday, Colonel Athlenda Mathe confirmed the CRC had been closed since Tuesday, due to “an impasse” relating to rental payments.
Laudium Today understands that in January this year, the CRC were not printing any certificates as they were out of paper.
SAPS says the administering of criminal records, issuing of police clearance certificates as well as processing of fingerprint applications for firearms has commenced.

Members of the public are therefore advised that they are now able to drop-off and collect their documents at the building.
The CRC is currently experiencing a backlog with the issuing of Police Clearance Certificates.
