Local golfer Riyaad Dinath claimed victory in the second and final round of the Oman Golf Trophy South African Edition at the Pretoria Country Club this afternoon. Dinath triumphed over a competitive field that included 08’ Beijing Olympic Medalist Kgotso Mokoena and former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Brian Baloyi.
The win earned Dinath an all-expenses-paid trip to Muscat, Oman, where he will compete in the finals from December 8-12.
Speaking to Laudium Today, "I’m truly humbled and excited to have won the Oman Golf Trophy South African Edition. It was a tough competition, and facing stars like Brian Baloyi and Khotso Mokoena made it even more special. I’m looking forward to representing South Africa in the finals in Muscat and will give it my all. It’s a dream come true, and I can’t wait to see what lies ahead!"
The award was presented to Dinath during a Gala Dinner this evening, marking the culmination of a thrilling tournament.
