The Marabastad Retail Market has reopened today after the Department of Employment and Labour withdrew the restriction notice that was issued to traders on Monday, 08 August 2022.
MMC for Economic Development and Spatial Planning Andre le Roux said the inconvenience caused to the marketgoers, stallholders and the community at large is regrettable.
“My department will continue to address any challenges that the Market may experience to ensure that the market remains compliant with occupational health and safety legislation and regulations.”
Local businessmen were happy that they were able to trade again.
