On Tuesday the 23rd November, the LWN hosted an information sharing and educational programme with more than 200 female residents of the neighbouring informal settlement of Itereleng.

The topics discussed ranged from:

-pre and postnatal care presented by Doula Shamiem,

-Gender Based Violence by Paula Abrie (social worker at Laudium Hospital )

-fun activities by Haseena Azmuth of WWL

-demonstration and distribution of reusable sanitary pads by Zahra Aboo

-personal hygiene by Hafsa Carim chairperson of the network.

Refreshments, masks and sanitizers were handed to all participants.

Goody bags containing 10 personal hygiene items which were sponsored by other ladies groups and businesses, were handed out to 50 young women. Lovely prizes were awarded to those who participated in a fun question and answer session.

The LWN Secretary Vani Muthaya, was ecstatic at the success of the event and the gratitude the participants displayed.

She was also very grateful for the services provided by the Laudium Disaster Management in ensuring the safety of all the ladies who joined the event.
