Quick action by local residents and First Responders have prevented a local restaurant from being destroyed by a fire.
Members of Laudium Disaster Management, Tshwane Fire Department and Safe-T-Med Africa responded to the Bay Leaf restaurant in Tangerine street, Laudium shortly after 9:45 on Monday morning.
On arrival, first responders joined residents attempting to contain the blaze.
The fire, which engulfed a room situated at the back part of the restaurant, was speedily extinguished, preventing further damage to the structure.
The cause of the blaze is unknown and will be investigated
