ActionSA President, Herman Mashaba, together with the Tshwane Ward 61 team, visited Itireleng Informal Settlement & Laudium Extension 3 on Wednesday to have a look at the service delivery deficiencies and to ascertain how ActionSA can assist with improving the living conditions of the residents.
The team found raw sewerage running through the walkways that people use daily, as well as garbage dumped in various areas. The illegal dumping has worsened over the past 2 years.
Throughout the day, residents got to interact with the team and speak to Mr Mashaba about his plans on improving South Africa.
The team also met with the Heart 2 Heart Institute to visit their ECD center and learn more about their feeding scheme, which provides 1200 fresh meals to primary school kids every day. The institute has sent 10 individuals on an ECD training program, and of the 10 students, 5 now work as teachers at the ECD center.
The ActionSA Centurion Youth Forum will be hosting a hike at 408 Himalaya Street (PAJ Community Patrollers guardhouse) in Laudium this Sunday, 16 April at 16h00. Cllr Prajay has been leading hikes on the hill between Atteridgeville and Laudium since 2014 and has given many residents a view of our beautiful town from a different perspective.
We will be outlining a plan to create an outdoor recreation facility in the area. Everyone is welcome to join.
