This past Sunday, SAPS in conjunction with different stakeholders; Ward 61 Councillor Patel and his team, PR Cllr Dumisani Twala, Department of Community Safety, Laudium CPF and the Laudium Football Association held a Top 4 soccer tournament at the Laudium Stadium.
The teams that participated were Swaraj FC, Delfos FC, Simon Stars FC and All Nations FC

Laudium SAPS Spokesman, Sergeant Simon Chokoe said the tournament was part of the efforts to encourage the youth to continue to participate in sports and stay away from the streets so that they are not exposed to substance abuse and criminal activities.
“It was not about winning, but to bring young boys together to play sports. More than 150 youth were involved on the day. Sports can be used as a tool to bring people together and on fighting crime.” Sergeant Chokoe added.
Laudium SAPS Station Commander, Lieutenant Colonel David Sithole applauded his members and the various stakeholders, the youth for participating for their support and urged them to continue working with SAPS on fighting crime.
