On Sunday 26 March 2023, Cllr Prajay Ramjee and a handful of residents took to the streets. Determined to make a positive impact on the communities of Laudium and Erasmia, they set their sights on the area's countless potholes.

In a joint initiative by the Action SA Councillor and PAJ Community Development NPC, 18 large potholes were fixed along with numerous small ones. Potholes at key intersections posing concerns were the focus of the initiative. The following locations proved most urgent.

1. Cnr of 2nd and 3rd Avenue (Muhammad's Hardware)

2. HS Ebrahim Center

3. Cnr Bengal and 43rd

4. Cnr of Emerald and 6th

5. Barbara Coetzer

6. Cnr Main road and Bodenstein

7. Cnr of Aletta and Bart Joubert

The Councillor inspires the community to take charge of their environment. Working together with PAJ Community Development NPC, their multi pronged strategy aims to keep the legacy of our great community shining bright. To make the town a place to be proud of.

Z.Amod told Laudium Today, “I drove pass some guys filling potholes yesterday and thought to myself finally the council is doing some work. When I got closer, I seen it was Prajay and his team. Who else but Prajay!”

A.Joosub commented on a WhatsApp community group after reading about the PAJ islands initiative, “This is truly amazing. I even saw Prajay with his team this morning personally filling the potholes around Laudium. This is a classic example of a leader leading by example. As a community we should lend our support to him. Thank you Prajay.”
