Several leading media personalities were awarded at the annual Adcock Ingram OTC Sponsors of Brave Journalist/Media Awards in Johannesburg last night.
Well-known anti-crime activist and presenter of #CrimeWatch on etv and eNCA, Yusuf Abramjee, from Crime Watch were among them.
Other included former Mail and Guardian editor, Khatija Patel, Faizal Patel from the Citizen, INX’s Muhammed Choonara, SAFM presenter Ashraf Garda and veteran media personality, Ashraf Garda.
Other recipients included eNCA Journalist, Heidi Giokos, News Director at Kaya FM, Katy Katopodis, MD of Kaya, Colleen Louw, Aki Anastasiou from My Broadband, Devi Sankaree Govender from etv and eNCA, Leanne Manas and Sakina Kamwendo from the SABC and 702’s Bongani Bingwa.
Carte Blance, News 24 journalists and Newsroom Afrika presenters were also awarded.
It’s the fourth consecutive year Abramjee received the recognition.
